Four Remedies That Treat Acne
By: SophiaAcne is the most prominent skin disorder among teenagers and young adults. There are numerous medical procedures that one can undergo to prevent or treat acne, but face it: with the amount of pressure caused by academics and social situations, sometimes it’s difficult to cram these into our schedules. Below we have listed four accessible, affordable, and natural remedies that can help combat acne. Greek Yogurt
Okay, so this solution is a classic (no pun intended). Greek yogurt contains high quantities of lactic acid that prevents it from spoiling. This property is extremely beneficial to your skin. It will serve your skin as an anti-inflammatory as well as an exfoliator. Apply the yogurt as a mask for about 15 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. Lemon Juice
Lemon juice provides your skin with antioxidants and anti-bacterial agents due to it’s amount of Vitamin C and flavonoids. Apply the lemon juice directly onto your pimples with a q-tip or cotton ball, and leave the remedy on overnight. If you have sensitive skin, be sure to dilute it with water– lemons have acidic properties and can burn.Cinnamon and Honey
Cinnamon contains several antimicrobial properties and also helps exfoliate your skin. Honey has a wonderful drying effect that will cure pimples (bacteria relies on moisture). Create a mask that consists of one teaspoon of cinnamon and one tablespoon of honey. Apply the mask to the infected areas of your skin and keep it on overnight. It’s suggested to continue this process for several days. Tomato Pulp
Tomato pulp is extremely effective if you want to control pimples; it’s acids tighten pores and dry skin. It’s antioxidant properties can also heal damaged areas, such as scars and dark spots. Remove the tomato’s pulp and juice and keep it on pimples for 30 minutes. Wash the remedy off with a warm towel afterwards.
